Snapchat just answered one of its users' biggest requests: The Flashpoint X Porn (1997)app will no longer limit you to single 10-second video clips at a time. Instead, Snapchat now allows you to record up to a full minute of video at once.
There is, however, one catch.
SEE ALSO: Snapchat is becoming the social network it never wanted to beWhile you can now record up to 60 seconds of video in one go, the recording will still be broken up into 10-second clips.
The feature, which Snap is officially calling "Multi-Snap," is similar to the way you can record longer videos with Spectacles. Once you've reached the end of the first 10-second clip, just continue pressing down on the shutter to keep the video going. You can do this up to six times (Spectacles allows you to extend recordings up to 30 seconds).
You can also go back and edit each individual clip or take out the ones you don't want to share. All of the clips you've recorded will appear at the bottom of your screen.
While the feature addresses a couple of problems -- like trying to perfectly time your button presses so your video doesn't cut out midway through a key moment -- the fact that the app still forces you to break up your video into 10-second clips is kind of annoying. Especially considering the recent addition of limitless snaps, forcing longer videos into multiple clips feels like a cheap trick to boost some vanity stats.
Still, the fact that the app will let you record longer video uninterrupted at all will no doubt be a welcome addition for many. Snapchat's new "Multi-Snaps" are out now for iOS and "coming soon" for Android, according to a Snapchat spokesperson.
Elsewhere in the app, Snapchat is also getting a new "creative tool" called the Tint Brush. A bit like the selective color tool in a desktop photo editing program, the Tint Brush allows you to change the color of certain parts of a photo.
The Tint Brush tool is available now in Snapchat's iOS and Android app.
