Tatiana Maslany won the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her starring role in BBC America's Orphan Black.

In her speech, she praised the show for its many female characters: "I feel so lucky to be part of a show that puts women at the center."
The actress beat out Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder), Claire Danes (Homeland) and Keri Russell (The Americans) for the award. This is her second nomination for her role on Orphan Black, and her first win.
