If that's true, UK-based illustrator Hazel Bee has managed to capture the hilarious quirks that define what it means to be quintessentially British in a series of brilliant greeting cards.

Bee's whimsical designs incorporate silly scribbles and speech bubbles to depict ludicrous yet somehow hilariously relatable (and unequivocally British) scenarios.

"The ideas came from somewhere I can't access or explain, another room of my mind which only lets an idea poop out every so often and at irregular times, but the concepts are undoubtedly based on real life experience... or intoxications," Bee told Mashable.

Bee's illustrations began as doodles in the back of a sketch book during her years at uni. After receiving positive feedback from a presentation of her drawings in the form of a children's book, she decided to take some mock-ups to a local gift shop. Things took off from there, and Hazel Bee cards are now available in shops around the UK.

However, Bee wanted the business "to have as little impact on the planet as possible". From the beginning, she took measures to ensure that the materials used in the production and distribution of her products were ethically sourced and have minimal impact on the environment.

This means her witty illustrations are printed using vegetable ink on 100% recycled pulp cards and placed in biodegradable cellophane bags made from cornstarch. The envelopes are made locally from unbleached, recycled paper, and even the invoices are printed without bleaching and free from optical brightening agents.

"I wanted to create a way for people to enjoy my work without contributing to landfill, deforestation etc... in a nutshell, giving a shit about the planet was my priority", Bee explains.
