Interestingly enough, Wilkerson appeared on The Ellen Showto talk about his viral success a couple weeks after the tweet launched. Ellen wanted to work together with Wilkerson to get both of their tweets to 18 million retweets, as Ellen wasn't ready to part with the retweet record.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is an organization that works to find homes for children in foster care. And with Wilkerson's landmark Twitter achievement, Wendy's donated $100,000 to the organization.
