UPDATE: May 3,Punjabi Archives 2018, 5:19 p.m. EDT NBC has updated their original story to say that Cohen's calls weren't being recorded but, rather, simply monitored. The story below has been updated to reflect this new update.

To jog your memory, this is all in reference to a statement made by James Comey during congressional testimony in which he responded to Trump's intimation that he taped conversations between the two with the quip, "Lordy, I hope there are tapes."
Of course, hours after everyone had a chance to pat themselves on the back for bringing back the classic line, NBC's correction to the story meant all the jokes are bad (if they were ever really that good in the first place).

Of course, now that NBC has had to walk back their story, the countdown clock for the next Trump "Fake news!" tweetstorm has been restarted.
