It's confirmed: OnePlus's next flagship Android phone,Adventure Archives the tentatively dubbed OnePlus 6, will have a notch, and a chin, and a headphone jack.
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei told The Verge its notch will be "bigger than the Essential Phone, smaller than the iPhone."

The entire smartphone industry is moving towards devices with displays that have notches, and OnePlus is not going to be left behind the trend.
Pei also explained why the phone will have a bezel (aka a "chin") below the screen. The answer's pretty boring: That's where the display's ribbon cable goes to connect to the logic board.
Unlike the iPhone X, copycat Android phones with notches all seem to have a chin. Pei said it's just cheaper to make phones with cables that come out of the bottom of the screen.
The iPhone X uses a flexible OLED screen that folds backwards from the top of the screen (see below image). This allows the display to truly go edge-to-edge. The downside is it's expensive to produce.
So the OnePlus's will have a notch. But it won't house the same kind of advanced TrueDepth camera system the iPhone X has, which means its face unlock will likely still be 2D-based (and less secure than Face ID) and it won't support any kind of face-tracking for Animoji or AR Emoji-like gimmicks.
I've been using an iPhone X since it launched in November and, honestly, it no longer bothers me. It just is. The only time I notice the notch is when I'm watching videos in full screen.
OnePlus says it's optimized the notch so that it will be disguised and won't eat into the screen. My guess is videos just won't extend into the "horns" on both sides of the notch.
A few purported images of the OnePlus 6 have leaked out, but they can't be confirmed. Earlier this month, a leak depicting a OnePlus 6 with re-aligned dual cameras and a polished/glass back made the rounds:
And on Tuesday, leaker extraordinaire Evan Blass tweeted the following photo:
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
Hard to say whether there will be multiple variants of OnePlus's next phone or if the image in Blass's tweet shows a skin wrap applied to the rear.
One thing is for sure: It'll have a headphone jack. Pei confirmed as much.
It's a brave new world for notched smartphones. Google's baked support for various-sized notches in the next version of its mobile OS, Android P, and companies like Huawei even include settings to turn off the notch on its new P20 and P20 Pro phones. So like it or not, you're just going to have to get used to it.
There's no word on when OnePlus's next phone will launch, but rumors suggest it could be in the next few months.
