Picture this: You're wandering through the desert and softcore moviesstumble on a hamburger with a face. Are you hallucinating? Are you high? Are you just reallyhungry? No, no, and maybe.
On Friday, Sela Shiloni encountered a googly-eyed, tongue-protruding hamburger in the middle of the barren landscape of Llano, California and tweeted a photo asking "What.... is this?" Well, it turns out that the giant hamburger is the missing "Durr Burger" from the popular game Fortnite.

But whywas the burger in the desert at all?

Shiloni later posted several videos of the mystery burger, revealing more clues in the form of a Fortnite-themed 1980s police car and a few cryptic signs. One sign read, "If you can read this you're in range of the anomaly," while the other reads, "This site is unstable. Beware of possible effects." Both signs hint back to the in-game rocket launch from June 30.

During the launch last month, the rocket propelled toward the sky, and appeared to crack a bubble over the map. These thread-like cracks spread throughout the game and caused "rifts" that seemed to suck objects to another place or possibly other dimension. This giant burger, known in the game as "Durr Burger," has vanished, along with a giant tomato and other various in-game objects.

Fortniteplayers and fans have been migrating to the spot in the desert to see the in-game props in real life. Esports Group DooM Clan live-streamed their journey to the site, where they were handed a business card by an "agent," which complicated the whole mystery even more.

The card read "Agent #3678" on one side with the phone number 712-380-4091 on the other. As I confirmed upon calling the number, you hear a version of the in-game noise of an object being sucked into one of the rifts or portals. Upon hitting the phone's star key, it asks for an extension, and while I eagerly tried the agent number, it was not a valid extension.
So, what does all this mean? Chances are Epic Games is hyping Season 5 of the game that might introduce a new desert map. While no one is quite sure, fans have been speculating in-game, on Twitter, and on Reddit.

For now, we do know that a giant burger and a 1980s police car are in the California desert and that we're probablynot all hallucinating.
It's likely just a matter of time before the other missing objects like a giant tomato and the lonely lodge sign turn up somewhere. Until then, be sure to bring some water and sunscreen if you make the trek to see the Durr Burger.
