Former President Donald Trump once waged war with Apple over tariffs for products made in China. At one point,Down Town he said Apple would not be given tariff waivers on Mac Pro parts unless Apple produced them in the U.S.
Now, thanks to Trump's final financial disclosure report as president (via The New York Times' David Enrich), we know that Trump actually owns one of those U.S.-made Macs, as Apple CEO Tim Cook gifted the ex-President a $5,999 Mac Pro.
The document describes the Mac Pro as "the first created at the Flex Factory in Austin, Texas," which is technically false, as Apple has been making Mac Pro computers in Austin since 2013. It might, however, be the first 2019-gen Mac Pro produced at the factory, which would make it quite the cool collector's item.
The document doesn't mention any peripherals, so we're imagining the Mac Pro, whose basic, $5,999 variant comes without a monitor, is just collecting dust in one of Trump's many basements.
