Despite his surly,Thailand Archives intense exterior, Tom Hardy has a golden heart.

In the aftermath of the recent bombing at an Ariana Grande concert that killed 22 people, Hardy has launched a fundraising campaign for the British Red Cross.

The aim was to raise £15,000 for the victims of the attack and their families, but in a few hours, more than £20,000 were raised. You can donate to the campaign here, on JustGiving.

The actor, who made his name for his laconic performances in films like Mad Max: Fury Roadand The Revenant, described the attack as an "inconceivable atrocity."

"There is no bringing back those who have been lost, pointlessly, in such a cowardly and brutal fashion. I am truly saddened by what I have witnessed and there is no doubt that Terrorism is an evil thing," he wrote.

"I hope between us we can raise some funds as a gesture of goodwill and love to help in some small way towards repairing some if any of the damage done in the wake of last nights events," Hardy continued.

"There will be much to do and for many the beginning of a new life without those that they love and also a new life damaged irrevocably by the actions of a crime which has no reason, no heartfelt purpose but was simply a cruel cowardly and barbaric, meaningless act of violence. A road to recovery unimaginable."

He concluded by sending his "heartfelt concern and deepest sympathy" to the victims.
