New York City,Le bijou d’amour where dreams come true as do nightmares.
In a recent trip to a Popeyes franchise in Harlem, Rosemary Thomas posted an image to her facebook page of what she believes is a rat fried into her meal.
She captioned the post with, "Friends and family, this is a meal Popeyes in Harlem served my daughter, my niece and sister. This is clearly a rat and they have the nerve to have a five rating by the department of health."
Renee Kopkowski, a spokeswoman for Popeyes, provided a statement to The Huffington Post, following the incident.
The owner of the franchise is, "meeting with [Thomas] as soon as she is able,” Kopkowski told HuffPost. “In the meantime, he ordered a health department inspection and they found nothing out of the ordinary. We’ve checked with suppliers and they feel it is most likely chicken organ meat. We will work with the guest to recover the product and test it to confirm that.”
Yummy! Apparently, this Popeyes did receive an "A" grade by the Dept of Health. This is probably not what New Yorkers should expect from grade "A" fast food.
Yikes.
