The American classic porn movie Hot Lunch (1978)perfect costume. Its structural perfection is matched only by its adorableness.
Stephanie Pokorny, the crochet wizard behind Crochetverse, has crafted two of the best Halloween costumes you'll see this year. What'd she need? Yarn and time — and a whole lotta both!
It's become tradition in Pokorny's house for her two youngest sons to tell her what they want to be for Halloween, and then she painstakingly makes their costumes. This year, the choices were Skeletor, and the Xenomoprh from Alien.
"We are a huge retro/vintage family, so often times the choices are from eras not their own," Pokorny told Mashable via DM. When asked about the cost of making each costume, she said, "I would estimate that materials wise I am probably in the 75 dollar range but labor... oh lord... so so much haha!"
Each costume takes her between 35 and 50 hours to crochet, which she breaks up over the course of two to three weeks. If you're doing the math at home, that's up to 100 hours and as many as six weeks of working and crocheting so her sons can be the coolest kids on the block.
If you're looking to snag your own epic crochet costume for Halloween this year, we're sorry to say you're out of luck. These masterpieces are not for sale.

"So for most of the year, I create and sell pattern instructions for crochet items I design and that is my hustle while I mom my babies," Pokorny said. "The costumes are our fun time outlet and therefore are never sold or patterned."

Of course, you could give it a go on your own! But Halloween is only weeks away, and trying to crochet costumes with this level of detail and execution would be a challenge, to say the least. We can't lie to you about your chances, but you have our sympathies.
