The Kale Yeah! eating competition will challenge herbivores to eat as much of the healthy green as possible in eight minutes.

According to the Associated Press, the winner will be rewarded with $2,000, as well as a natural protein boost and probably a bunch of green stuff in their teeth.

Kale Yeah! is part of the Taste of Buffalo festival, which will run July 9 - July 10 in Buffalo, New York.

The competition aims to offset the fried and unhealthier fare at Taste of Buffalo.

"The Independent Health Foundation's Healthy Options program requires each vendor to offer a health-conscious menu item," reported the Associated Press.

Kale Yeah! might have the power to remove any disturbing images from yesterday's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, in which champion Joey Chestnut devoured 70 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

In terms of not getting sick afterwards, things are looking promising for all hipsters and vegetarians who enter the Kale Yeah! contest.
