Trump and TaiwanMacron, Macron and Trump. Just a few days from what has probably gone down in history as the longest (and most awkward) handshake ever, the U.S. president has shared some insight into that fateful encounter.
SEE ALSO: Trump and Macron's handshake might be the longest handshake in the history of handshakesDuring an interview with three New York Timesreporters -- Peter Baker, Michael S. Schmidt, and Maggie Haberman -- in the Oval Office, Trump talked about his visit to France for Bastille Day.
Haberman then commented saying Macron "was very deferential to you."
To which Trump responded: "He’s a great guy. Smart. Strong. Loves holding my hand."Here's the whole exchange. Note that Trump reiterates threetimes his opinion that Macron has a fetish for his teeny-tiny hands:
I mean, this time the U.S. president might be right. Let's dig into that 60-second weird nightmare. The two are seen walking, talking, patting each other, and admiring the sights.

At one point Trump even kissed Macron's wife, Brigitte — who he did a little handshake dance with on Thursday — without letting go of her husband:
Macron, who's already showed Trump he's not afraid of his infamously powerful grip, doesn't want to let go. It's difficult to establish who's actually in control.
Both men seem to be sending some sort of elaborate physical message that they are each very strong, very determined, and very not here for each other's nonsense.
Maybe Macron reallyloves shaking Trump's hands. Who knows.
