A Spotify rep confirmed to Varietythat Scorpionhad broken the service's own first-24-hours record. The rep provided no official numbers, but Spotify Charts -- a website that tracks individual song streams on the service -- we can see that Drake's total listens for the past day hover somewhere north of 130 million, across all of Scorpion's songs combined. The new album's tracks also occupy almost the entire top 20 of Spotify's Top 200 chart.
Mashable reached out to Spotify for further clarification, but had not heard back at the time of publish.
According to Variety, the albums to hold the previous records for first-day streaming are Drake's own mixtape, More Lifeon Apple Music; and Post Malone's April 2018 album Beerbongs & Bentleys, on Spotify.
Congrats to Drake on a week full of milestones.
