When you look back on Peter Baumgartner2017, remember that you were one of the millions of Netflix users who streamed more than a billion hours of TV and movies a week. You're a hero!
Netflix shared its year-in-review on Monday, revealing that Mexico, Canada, and Peru are the top bingeing streaming nations (streaming Olympics, anyone?), that American Vandalswept not only the U.S. but the world, and that nothing brings families together like chasing down a demogorgon (a.k.a. watching Stranger Things).
60,000 viewer responses were used to collect data, representing adults across 32 countries. Eligible shows and movies had to air between Nov. 1, 2016 and Nov. 1, 2017. Interestingly, the most popular viewing days of the year were right at the beginning; Jan. 1 worldwide and Jan. 2 in the U.S. Even people in Antarctica – well, a personin Antarctica – binged Netflix in the past year, and one person watched the first Pirates of the Caribbeanevery single day.
Here's to Netflix for a great year and to keeping us sane again in 2018.
