Mario is eroticism art history university pressfinally leaping off Nintendo and onto mobile phones.

Nintendo's famed director Shigeru Miyamoto was the first guest during Apple's iPhone 7 launch event Wednesday. The creator of Mario announced the plumber's first mobile title: Super Mario Run.

The endless runner lets players take Mario across classic-looking stages, but using simple, one-touch controls. Mario automatically runs, and players tap the screen to make him jump. More complex levels will feature blocks that change his direction, or start and stop and his running, Miyamoto said.

"It's the first time you play a Mario game with one hand, so you can play while riding the subway, eating a hamburger, or eating an apple," Miyamoto joked.

Super Mario Run will be out this holiday for iOS devices. Miyamoto stressed the game will have a fixed price, without further microtransactions down the line.

Nintendo's first mobile foray, Miitomo, was released on iOS and Android devices at the end of March. It was a mix of social network and game, letting users create their own Mii avatar and interact with their friends via a question-and-answer format. While Miitomo did get 10 million downloads during its first week of release, it didn't have the sticking power to remain on the iTunes or Google Play charts.

And while many people may believe that summer mobile gaming sensation Pokémon Gowas a Nintendo product, it was actually entirely produced by The Pokémon Company International and Niantic Labs. Nintendo owns a small stake in TPCI, and provided funding to Niantic when it split off from Google, but the game wasn't part of the Nintendo/DeNA partnership.
