On an earnings call Tuesday, Disney CEO Bob Iger provided more details about ESPN's upcoming streaming video service, ESPN Plus. Disney first announced the service back in August 2017, but few specifics about the platform have emerged since.

Unfortunately, paying for the streaming service won't give users access to what ESPN is broadcasting on its TV channels — you'll still need a cable subscription and log-in for that. So what exactly will your ESPN Plus subscription get you? That's where things get a bit murky.
On the call, Iger said the service will stream “an incremental thousands of hours of live sports programming." He told CNBC that it will have "an array of live programming that is not available — live sports, live sports events — that is not available on current channels, and that's by the thousands."
So ESPN Plus will be your go-to source for live curling competitions? Ok, sure.
ESPN did not immediately return Mashable's request for more information about ESPN Plus programming specifics. We'll update this when they do. Fingers crossed for live sumo matches!
