The incident occurred last week at the National Night of Laughter and Song event at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Kesha approached Seinfeld during the interview to tell him she loved him, and to ask for a hug.
He turned her down. Twice.
The whole ordeal was caught on video, of course. Seinfeld later explained the situation, saying he doesn't know every star, and that he's not into just hugging strangers.
"In my reality, I don't hug a total stranger. I have to meet someone, say ‘hello,'" Seinfeld later explained. "I gotta start somewhere … hug isn't first moment of a human, two humans. I never did that.”
At least we got some art out of all the awkwardness.
