“He said the first time that he laid eyes on me that he said, ‘That’s the girl I’m going to marry,’” Clemma told ABC News. The Elmore's tied the knot after she jokingly asked Sterling to marry her.
The shoot, inspired by The Notebook'stwo lead character's romance, was captured by photographer Stacy Welch-Christ, who according to an interview with Put A Ring On It, is the sister-in-law of the couple's granddaughter.
"We thought what a special gift that would be to them to hold onto, the memory of the shoot itself and the photos," Welch-Christ told the site. "We were tearing up from the first pose. They are so in love….it was completely natural."
Since being uploaded to Facebook, the photographs have now been shared over 41,000 times and the response has been overwhelmingly positive, filled with people who are inspired by their love.
“We are totally overwhelmed. It just has got us just – well, we’re just humbled by the comments,” Clemma told ABC News. They have even been recognized while out shopping.
