Apple's head of design Jony Ive says the book is not focused on the company's design team product development. It is, he said in a statement, "an objective representation of our work that, ironically, describes who we are. It describes how we work, our values, our preoccupations, and our goals."
Of course, the book itself being an Apple product, it has all the traits of a typical Apple product. It's been designed with special care, printed on "specially milled, custom-dyed paper with gilded matte silver edges, using eight color separations and low-ghost ink."
And it's not cheap -- the small version (10.20” x 12.75”) costs $199, while the large one (13” x 16.25”) costs $299 (U.S.).
The book will be available starting Wednesday, Nov. 16, at select Apple Stores, as well as on Apple's online store in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the UK and the U.S.
