The Times identified Goodfellow as Daley's "synchronised partner" whileThe Daily Mail cropped him out of the story and titled "Tom's leap to Olympic joy."
The Daily Telegraphand the Daily Expressalso inexplicably snubbed Goodfellow in their front covers.

Goodfellow's mother took to Twitter to express her disappointment.
She responded to Nick Sutton, editor of the BBC News website, that she was “very surprised” by the Telegraph’s front page:
