All across the country,Yoshihiro Tanbara Archives middle school English teachers are crying.
After James Comey's jaw-dropping testimony today, President Trump's legal team responded by dropping a few jaws of their own. Not by providing a resounding defense -- that, for now, seems impossible -- but by releasing a statement that included a dramatic misspelling in the first line.

Lots of crazy stuff in that statement. They also misspelled "President." pic.twitter.com/dH5aIJiHOd

Spelling mistakes in a highly official document are already embarrassing enough, but a mistake in the first line?
How thoroughly un-predisential.

It's unclear why so few people in the White House know how to spell, or why they simply refuse to use spell-check. Is everyone working off a typewriter? Do they not understand the meaning of red squiggly lines? What is this world we're living in?
This is the moment Donald Trump became predisent.

Other parts of the document were similarly riddled with errors:
This isn't the first time the Trump administration has struggled with the English language. In April, the White House misspelled Betsy DeVos' title as "Educatuon Secretary." In February, the White House released a list of alleged terrorist attacks and misspelled the word attacker as "attaker" 27 times.
